About
Welcome to Pho Quynh Express (Burrard), a vibrant Vietnamese eatery nestled in the heart of downtown Vancouver at 810 Burrard St. This bustling spot is renowned for its delicious pho and welcoming atmosphere, making it a go-to destination for both locals and visitors seeking authentic Vietnamese cuisine.
As you step inside, you'll be greeted by the lively chatter of satisfied diners, setting the stage for an enjoyable culinary experience. The restaurant's focus on fresh ingredients and hearty portions shines through in every dish. A standout is undoubtedly the pho; many patrons rave about its rich, flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles. One reviewer aptly captured the essence of this classic dish, noting that it arrives "piping hot" and "pleasing to the palate." The large and small pho options cater to varying appetites, ensuring everyone finds something to enjoy.
Complementing this delightful soup are the spring rolls. While some diners praised them, others felt they could use a little more pizzazz—particularly in terms of the accompanying peanut sauce, which has received mixed reviews for being somewhat bland. However, the restaurant compensates for this minor shortcoming with friendly, attentive service, quickly delivering delicious meals even during peak dining hours.
Customers often express their appreciation for the generous portion sizes, with one diner noting the excellent value for money spent. Even more enticing, Pho Quynh Express offers a complimentary pot of tea, the perfect remedy for Vancouver's cooler days. The atmosphere, while bustling, may not be ideal for intimate conversations, but it fosters a sense of community amongst diners enjoying their meals together.
For those navigating the busy streets of Burrard and Robson, Pho Quynh Express stands out as a stellar option for satisfying your Vietnamese cravings. Whether you're on a shopping spree or just looking for something hot and hearty after a day of exploring the city, make sure to treat yourself to an unforgettable experience at this beloved locale. Happy dining!

“ Solid pho. Came out piping hot. Noodles were firm and not over cooked. We had a large and small pho.. ordered a side of pork spring rolls. Place is clean and service was very quick as it wasn't very busy at dinner. I would come back again. ”
“ Open on Family Day when many other places were closed. Decent Vietnamese dishes but not exceptional. The service was friendly and efficient. The food came out quickly and was hot and tasty. ”
“ Descent Vietnamese food but I have had better. We came here after a long day of ski and were craving for some hot soup . We ordered shrimp spring rolls, a large rare beef pho, and vermicelli. I really like the pho: I thought the broth was delicious and the beef was good also. The shrimp spring rolls were a bit letdown tbh. I didn’t quite like the peanut sauce as it was a bit too bland in my opinion. Anyways, the location of this place was great: right downtown and close to everything. ”
“ This was our third visit to this Vietnamese restaurant, and it continues to impress. Located in the shopping area at Burrard and Robson Street, it’s always busy at lunch and dinner, so I recommend arriving early or dining an hour after peak times. The food is plentiful, hot, fresh, tasty, and hearty—guaranteed to leave you with a full belly. However, presentation could be improved, especially the small plastic bowls used for the complimentary soup that comes with some meals. I noticed another reviewer mentioned this as well. The atmosphere is lively, filled with the sound of customers chatting energetically. We don’t mind this, as it creates a happy and vibrant feel. However, if you're looking for a quiet place to have a conversation, this might not be the best choice—at least based on our visits. Today (Tuesday), we were there at 1:30 PM, and the restaurant was about two-thirds full, with the usual lively chatter. There is no dedicated background music, just what sounds like a radio playing in the kitchen area. One aspect that stood out to me (not in the best way) was the decor. If you’ve read my other restaurant reviews, you’ll know I’m not a fan of places that claim to be a specific cuisine but then decorate with completely unrelated images. This restaurant, for instance, has photos of Venice and Paris rather than anything from Vietnam, which takes away from the authenticity of the atmosphere. It feels like little thought was put into the theme, so I rated the ambiance a 4 instead of a 5. That said, the staff is friendly, the restaurant looks clean, and the pricing is fair for the amount of food you receive. Upon arrival, they serve a complimentary pot of tea, which is perfect for warming up after stepping in from the cold and rain. My wife ordered the lemongrass pork with steamed rice, while I had the lemongrass pork with noodles. Our total came to $37 before tip. If you're driving, parking might be an issue since this is a busy area (we walked). If you're shopping around Robson and Burrard and want a hearty, filling, and tasty meal at a good price, this is a great spot. Nothing fancy, but solid value for your money. Recommended! ”
“ First time eating at this restaurant. The server was very friendly and welcoming. The food portions for the price are amazing. The food was delicious and full of authentic flavour. The beef satay was different from others I’ve had and wasn’t my favourite but it was still delicious. If you’re craving Vietnamese food and are on Burrard Street downtown definitely give this place a try. ”
